I don't want to forget the big NorCal meet this weekend - the Ed Sias Invitational hosted by Campolindo High School. Two NorCal teams continued to set themselves apart as among the best in the state.
On the girls side, St. Francis of Sacramento had a dominant win, going 1-2-3 in the girls varsity race. Lauren LaRocco won in 11:36, with teammates Madison Rawson taking second in 11:44 and Miranda Myers was 3rd in 12:01. Together they are now 5th, 6th and 14th on the all time list behind big names Gordon, [Julia] Maxwell, Bei, and Nacouzi.
Not to be outdone, the De La Salle boys duplicate the feat, going 1-2-3 in the boys varsity race. Blair Hurlock led the charge going 9:42 to take down Erik Olson's 9:45 course record. Teammates Luke Williams and Matthews Schumann grabbed 2nd and 3rd in 10:04 and 10:08 respectively. Together the De La Salle trio are now now 1st, 9th, and 13th on that all time list.
Edit 9/16 - 1:30 pm - Meet Director Chuck Woolridge just clarified that this was an alternative course this year, so my comments regarding all-time lists are not valid. Apologies.
